The Sporting Life 10k is this Sunday!!! 

I set a goal last year to try to race under 40 minutes. Last year I had an excellent first 5 km split – 19:20, then near the 8 km marker I faded (basically almost crawled) then picked it back up to cross the line with a PB of 41:56. If I'm honest with myself sub 40 would be a pleasant surprise! I'm going to race my heart out though and hopefully I'll PB again this year! 


The race is for an awesome cause – Camp Oochigeas, a camp for kids with cancer. Last year at the finish area some of the kids were there giving everyone high fives! It was really special and certainly put the whole event in perspective. This run is really all about celebrating them and providing them with hope, community and support! Love it.

My training has been steady, I'm in better shape than ever and I'm ready to tackle the course one step at a time! If you're going to be at the 10k this Sunday come say hi. I'll be running in the red corral leaving at 8 am – let's pow-wow and do some warm-up strides.
