SPIRIT ANIMAL: A penguin - I love to swim, cuddle and huddle.

HEALTHY TREAT: All of the treats served at Impact Kitchen! Anything is great - I don't discriminate! I have a major sweet-tooth :)

FAVOURITE EXERCISE OF ALL TIME: Hard to pick just one so I will stick with the basics: lunges and pull ups.

WHY DO YOU LOVE MOVING? I am a strong believer that movement is the best medicine.

HEALTHY TORONTO ADVENTURE: I love to walk, run, bike around the city, exploring different neighbourhoods. Bouldering/rock-climbing is my year-round adventure! It is an amazing challenge and so much fun with friends!

BEST THING ABOUT BEING SUPER TALL: Being able to see over a crowd and reach for things. Feeling like I have go-go gadget arms and legs.

DID YOU PLAY ANY SPORTS GROWING UP? Yes! My history in sports ranges from varsity Water Polo to rugby, volleyball, to tennis. Sports have taught me the importance of community and I aim to create that same community feel by having an open, accepting, happy, motivating, positive, and friendly environment at BOD.

SPIRIT ANIMAL: I am definitely a bear. I am strong, cuddly and would do anything to protect my cubs.

FAVOURITE TREAT: So hard to choose! Anything covered in chocolate! 

WHY YOU #BODlove: As a trainer I love attending the classes - I am confident that I'm in good hands with the BODmakers and I always love walking out learning something new. Oh and the smiles - love the smiles!

BEST PART OF BEING A MOM OF THREE AWESOME KIDDIES: This is SO hard too! Can I say everything? I am just lucky that I have three amazing healthy kids ... watching them grow into who they are is really unbelievable. 

WHY DO YOU LOVE WHAT YOU DO: Working out for me is more than just getting in a sweat and burning off empty calories. I do it because I love it, I always have. Being strong and mobile is so important. I want to be ready for anything life throws at me. 

HOW HAS THE INDUSTRY EVOLVED: I've been training for over 20 years. The industry has definitely changed and so have I! I've recently found Crossfit and have my level 1 coaching certification. I love it, it's upped my fitness game and I am enjoying competing in the opens!

FITNESS GOALS: My overall goal is to improve as an athlete and hope to compete at games level with the masters women. Dream big! I'd like to specifically master a muscle up, land walking handstands and skin the cat without fear!

HEALTH FAD YOU'RE COMPLETELY OVER: Juice cleanses. Been there, done that, never again!

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS PRESENT: When I was 9 years old I asked for and got a medicine ball, the toy that started it all! 

FIRST BUSINESS VENTURE: Actually, around the same time as the medicine ball  - so when I was 9 or 10 I started writing "fitness plans" for my friends. The plans included VERY advanced advice, "walk home from school" and "have a peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch with an apple", needless to say I needed a little more training myself!  

SPIRIT ANIMAL: A unicorn. I am a leader. I like to leap and I believe in magic.

BEST THING ABOUT TORONTO: The parks! 100% Without them I would not have been able to start BOD! I built BOD out of the park behind my childhood home six years ago into this dream come true studio space. I hustled hard and now we have a roof. It's pretty awesome and I don't take this space for granted for a single second - especially when it's raining!! 

MOVE . YOGA . RUN - WHY THESE THREE? I have tried EVERY single type of workout known to humankind and these are the three I keep coming back to time and time again. Yoga for the mindfulness, run for the freedom and moving just because it feels so good and it is what we were made to do.

WHY DID YOU BUILD BOD? First and foremost - for the squad. From the very beginning BOD has been about our community, you are what matters most to me and that is how it will always be.
